Storm water drains or Sanitary sewer drains?

Disposal of chemicals or hazardous substances in the storm sewer system is not only illegal but very damaging to our environment. Pollutants that get into storm drains can poison fish, birds, and other wildlife, and can find their way into drinking water supplies. In addition, silt, litter, and organic matter can clog storm drains and cause flooding.

  • Don't pour ANYTHING in storm sewer drains

  • Keep drains clear of leaf and lawn litter

    • Collect and recycle oil from vehicle maintenance

  • Don't pour paint down any sink or drain

  • Clean up spills -- DON'T wash them into drains

    • Minimize use of pesticides and herbicides
