So, it's raining cats and dogs outside and your parking lots has never looked more like a lagoon. Most people would think that this is the perfect time to get your storm drain serviced...well insert HonK sounds here. The reason storm drain maintenance is so important on a regular basis is that once the downpour begins, anything pumped out during that time is merely removing what is falling on the surface and not what is already accumulated in the actual drain box, so don't delay!!! Need a proposal? Grease Trap Service, Miami, Broward

- Why is it important to clean and maintain my grease interceptor?

A poorly operating or improperly maintained grease interceptor will allow FOG to enter sewer lines.
An efficiently operating interceptor needs proper maintenance. Not removing FOG and solids from the grease interceptor frequently enough can cause private drain line blockages, back-ups, foul odors and loss of business. Even worse, a FOG obstruction in the city sewer line can cause a sewage overflow to the environment or in other buildings. The city will take enforcement actions against an FSE that causes a grease obstruction in the city sewer. The FSE could also be liable for any damages caused to other businesses or residences impacted by the obstruction.

sewer overflow- How often should I clean my grease interceptor?

You should pump out hydro-mechanical grease interceptors located inside at least once a month, and the larger outside gravity grease interceptors at least every three months.

LET PUMP OUTS UNLIMITED INC HANDLE THAT MESS FOR YOU! We do not only offer efficient services; our prices are quite competitive as well.

Lift Stations 101

WHAT ARE LIFT STATIONS?

Waste-water lift stations are facilities designed to move waste-water from lower to higher elevation, particularly where the elevation of the source is not sufficient for gravity flow and/or when the use of gravity conveyance will result in excessive excavation depths and high sewer construction costs.
Lift stations are used to reduce the capital cost of sewer system construction.  When gravity sewers are installed in trenches deeper than three meters (10 feet), the cost of sewer line installation increases significantly because of the more complex and costly excavation equipment and trench shoring techniques required.  The size of the gravity sewer lines is dependent on the minimum pipe slope and flow.  Pumping waste-water can convey the same flow using smaller pipeline size at shallower depth, and thereby, reducing pipeline costs.

Pump Outs Unlimited, the experts in Lift Stations!

Key elements of lift stations include a waste-water receiving well, often equipped with a screen or grinding to remove coarse materials; pumps and piping with associated valves; motors; a power supply system; an equipment control and alarm system; and an odor control system and ventilation system.  Lift station equipment and systems are often installed in an enclosed structure. They can be constructed on-site (custom-designed) or prefabricated.

In standard septic systems, gravity is used to flow the sewage from the home to the septic tank, and then to the leach field. When the sewage needs to be pumped because the tank or leach field is at higher ground.septic pumps are also used to pump sewage into the city sewer, when the street sewer line is higher than the home sewage line. Septic Lift Stations fill with sewage to a certain level, then the pump turns on and the sewage is pumped on to the next stage.
Call us now for a proposal!!!

If your tank hasn't been pumped in the last 5 years, you are seeing wet areas or standing water above your drainfield, your toilets are running slowly or there are odors in your home, you may need to have your septic system cleaned. Below are some things to think about that will influence the cost of your septic system cleaning.
Pumping
Under normal conditions, you should pump your tank every 1-3 years based upon the number of people living in your home. Generally, this pumping will take around 4-5 hours of manual labor and about 2 hours or so with a backhoe. If you know the location of your septic system, this could save you some money on the backend because your professional won't have to charge you the time to locate it.
Size of tank
Obviously, smaller tanks cost less to clean, although you may need to do them more often. Larger tanks require more labor and possible machinery to dig up and pump the tank.
Replacing common parts
You may need parts replaced, such as a filter, which could cost a few hundred dollars. However, this filter is necessary in maintaining the function and longevity of your drainfield.
Soil fracturing
If your professional notices that your tank is failing, they can sometimes resurrected by properly pumping the tank, cleaning the drainfield lines, installing filters and a process known as fracturing the soil, which involves inserting a hollow tube into the ground and injecting a 300-pound blast of air. While this procedure could cost into the thousands dollars, it's much less expensive and much less hassle than installing a new system.
Keeping it clean
You know that your septic tank will work only if the bacteria in it are healthy and hungry. If they get sick or die, your septic tank will start sending un-digested waste out to the drain field which will quickly plug it up. Below are some "weird" things that could kill your septic tank:
Chemotherapy Drugs
Anti-Bacterial Hand Washing Soap
Toilet Bowl Cleaners
Bath and Body Oils
Dishwashers
Water Softeners
Time-Release Pills and Capsules
Tip
Once your septic tank is uncovered - take photos of it and diagram it in relation to your home. This information can save you money and could prove valuable if your tank needs additional service in the future.

Importnant Information about Storm Drains

The storm drain systems are important to service at least once a year, before the rainy season begins. Many storm drainage systems are designed to drain the storm water, untreated, into rivers or streams. Everything other than pure rain water is a potential contaminant that degrades water quality. All storm drains should be pumped out of all debris and that might have collected at the bottom of each catch basin. All the lines should also be jetted for proper drainage effect once the rainy season.
