Monthly Maintenance Agreement for Lift stations. Call us at 305.620.7005!

Sewage lift stations/pump stations may be used as a matter of economics or to overcome inadequate hydraulic head when it is obvious that no other solution is practical. For instance, it may be more economical to utilize a sewage pump station to pump or lift the sewage over a ridge and let it flow by gravity to a sewage treatment plant, or to elevate sewage to pass through a sewage treatment system by gravity.

Grease traps in North Miami Beach

Grease trap cleaning pumping helps keep maintenance of your grease trap by preventing any unwanted mess. If a grease trap is not properly maintained the grease can move out into the sewer system where it will then harden and start creating backups. This is not a situation that you would want to put your customers or staff in. If the requirements to handle your grease trap are no properly met you will be fined by local authorities for jeopardizing the sewer system and environment.

Pump Outs: Smoke Testing

Plumbing smoke tests are also used to find places where pipes will spill fluid, and to check sanitary sewer systems for places where ground water and storm runoff can enter. Smoke testing is particularly useful in places such as ventilated sanitary sewer systems, where completely sealing the system is not practical.
When smoke testing a sanitary sewer system it is helpful to partially block off the section of sewer to be tested. This can be done by using a sand bag on the end of a rope. The sand bag is lowered into the manhole and swung into position to partially block lines. Completely blocking the line can cause water to back up and prevent smoke from escaping through defects. Smoke testing may not be done after rain or when ground water is unusually high as this may also prevent detection of defects.
If you are in need for a Smoke test, give our office a call and we will be more than glad to help you with the service that you need. Give our office a call at 305.620.7005 or visit our website pumpoutsunlimited.com.

What are the benefits of a smoke test? Call us for a proposal at 305.620.7005!

What are the benefits of smoke testing?

Smoke testing is the most efficient and cost effective way to locate and identify where unauthorized water is entering the public portion of the sewer system. The smoke is harmless and will disappear after only a few minutes. The testing is also a cost-effective way to find areas of the sewer system that need improvement. Smoke testing will also help identify plumbing leaks in buildings. Sewer gases can cause health problems for building occupants.

Smoke testing is becoming a requirement nationwide for locating unauthorized water problems that are threatening the ability to properly treat wastewater and costing wastewater treatment facilities millions of dollars.

Manhole Visual Inspection

The Manhole Inspection is designed to collect inspection data of all manholes. We will inspect your sanitary/storm sewer system and manholes for defects.

Information such as:
  • Direction of flow
  • Depth of invert
  • Measured diameter of inlet and outlet pipes
  • Condition of the manhole / catch basin
  • Manhole construction material

Through the inspections we will identify potential areas of Inflow and Infiltration.

Lift stations need love too...

  1. Wet wells pumped out and pressure washed at least twice a year, or more often if necessary, to prevent solids and grease build-up. Build-up of solids can create odors and damage the pumps.
  2. Pull and inspect submersible pumps taking close note of the condition of the impeller and suction port. Worn impellers create more runtime on the pumps, consuming more energy than necessary and causing premature failure of the pump motor.
  3. Inspection of check valves to prevent back flow from the force main to the wet well.
  4. Clean and inspect floats to insure proper performance. The buildup of grease prevents floats from working properly.
  5. Inspect and exercise the electrical control panel, including the light and alarm systems. Thermography will be used to determine if motor starters and circuit breakers are performing properly and to identify poor connections.
  6. Note and record hours from hour meters on each motor to provide an accurate record of how often each pump is cycling. Differences in run times greater than 10% may be an indication of a problem with one of the pumps.
  7. Amp and voltage readings will be taken on each pump motor and recorded. If the amp readings do not meet the manufacturer's specifications, it could be an indication that debris is lodged in the impeller, or that water has entered the motor housing. Early detection of either symptom can save the pump motor from catastrophic failure.
  8. Perform a Megohm test on the pump motors to determine the condition of the motor winding insulation. By utilizing regular Megohm testing, a base line reading can be established and used over time to determine if the windings are deteriorating, eliminating the chance of catastrophic failure and wet well downtime.
  9. Record and document all findings, present a written report to the owner after each maintenance period, and post the reports to the Internet on a secure server for safe keeping and instant access 24/7/365.

Maintaing your parking lot drains to avoid damage or unnecessary expenses.

To be sure a parking lot drainage system functions properly, it should be cleaned and maintained on a regular basis. Professional, preventive drain and catch basin cleaning is the key to minimizing the risk of property damage and unnecessary expense. When parking lot drain cleaning is performed as a part of regular property maintenance, the amount of time required and the material disposal volume are both greatly reduced, which results in simpler, lower cost service.
